2016 Wedding Trends

As the creative director and marketing manager for Lost Hill Lake Events I try to stay in tune with trends. We provide a lot of decor for our couples so our staff has to know what is hot and what is not. With the new year, comes new trends, so after observing our 2015 season and reading some of the top wedding blogs out there I have come up 6 decor trends for 2016 and how LHLE can help implement them!

See-Through Accessories Lost Hill Lake Events has been using windows, doors and other glass details for the last couple years but this is becoming more and more popular. Using acrylic or plastic materials can provide the same effect without the fear of breaking. Incorporating clear details are easiest in signs, instructions and seating charts for your guests, just make sure they are easy to read!

Major Metallics Rose Gold, Copper and classic Gold are the most popular accent colors for weddings. These sparkly touches create a glamours feel that fits with any theme. These colors look great as the details and pair nicely with our neutral woods and outdoor setting. Lost Hill Lake Events offers a selection of copper vases and/or gold chargers for two choices of metallic details.

Bold Lighting LHLE provides votives for each table to not only set the mood but make a dramatic statement. We are continuing the trend this year by adding three chandeliers to the top of our pavilion! (Look for pictures on the LHLE Facebook soon) Our couples can create extra ambiance by bringing large candles or using our lanterns to add another element to their reception.

Outstanding Organics Using feathers, moss and fruit to decorate is my craziest prediction for 2016. Flowers are beautiful but more vegetation and other organic elements are appearing in bouquets, centerpieces and ceremony decor! While this idea may be more popular for couples who want to bring the outdoors into their reception, we welcome the idea and love incorporating these elements with our beautiful outdoor surroundings.

Modern Calligraphy This has been a growing trend for the past couple years but I think 2016 will be the peak of the calligraphy craze! Use script fonts for invitations, chalkboards and your favors! I love the way it adds a different look to the casual setting of LHLE. If you are really committed, hire a friend or professional to create calligraphy for all the details at your wedding. The beautiful work below is by our favorite calligraphy friend, Olivia, find her work at oliviamarieblog.com!

Tons of Jewel Tones If you aren’t using metallics, jewel tones are the way to go. Dark colors used to be a wedding don’t but emeralds, plums, burgundy and maroons are the perfect addition to any wedding color wheel. These hues are more popular in the fall months but spring weddings can pick one dark color to accent the rest!

Lost Hill Lake Events prides itself in being completely customizable, we work hard to make sure our venue will fit each couple’s theme. We strive to make your wedding day dreams come true. What wedding trends do you think we will see in 2016?
